Ignitis and Baltisches Haus have entered into a strategic partnership agreement

Ignitis, the smart energy solutions company that operates Ignitis ON, the largest fast charging network for electric vehicles in Lithuania, and Baltisches Haus, a company that develops and manages commercial real estate throughout Lithuania, have entered into a strategic partnership agreement to provide at least 110 public charging points for electric vehicles in 15 cities across Lithuania. This is good news not only for electric vehicle drivers in the capital and other major cities, as the charging points will be located near shopping centres and other commercial areas in cities and towns where they are particularly welcome.

Eimantas Balta, EV Charging Network Department Manager at Ignitis, emphasized that within the next 12 months, the first charging points will be installed at buildings managed by "Baltisches Haus" in Vilnius, Kaunas, and Klaipėda. Over the following 12 months, the remaining charging points will be distributed in other cities and towns across the country. The agreement has been made for a 15-year period with an option to extend.

“We are consistently working towards our ambitious strategic goals of significantly expanding the electric vehicle charging network across Lithuania and the other Baltic States. Therefore, the strategic partnership agreement with Baltisches Haus is a strong breakthrough for our business and a significant convenience for electric vehicle drivers not only from Vilnius or Kaunas, as we will be installing charging points in places where they are sorely lacking today.” commented E. Balta.

Depending on the location, all charging points are designed to have a very high power of 150 kW or more, which will allow charging the battery of an electric vehicle from 0 to 80% in less than 20 minutes, and in some locations, we are also planning to install a charging points with a normal power of 22 kW, which will allow the electric vehicle to be left to charge for a longer time.” E. Balta.

“The swift expansion of the electric vehicle charging infrastructure within the properties under the ownership and management of Baltisches Haus represents a noteworthy achievement in our endeavours to enhance the value, appeal, and visitor flows of our commercial and service points. The expansion of the EV charging network in collaboration with our partners will empower our clients to attend to their daily routines seamlessly, without changing their travel plans, consequently facilitating time savings. Within two years of implementing this project, EV charging points will be available at 29 locations, encompassing nearly 60% of our managed and administered properties," says Audrius Masionis, CEO of Baltisches Haus.

Public charging points will be located near supermarkets, mainly Iki, and other commercial buildings not only in Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda, but also in Kretinga, Plungė, Mažeikiai, Šiauliai, Varėna, Alytus, Marijampolė, Vilkaviškis, Jurbarkas, Kėdainiai, Panevėžys, and Biržai.

At the future Ignitis ON charging points, as well as throughout the network, electric vehicles will be charged only with green Lithuanian electricity produced from Lithuania’s renewable energy sources, so every kilometre driven by an electric vehicle charged here will have zero emissions.
All the charging points currently available and soon to be installed can be found and conveniently accessed in a single Ignitis ON mobile app.
